Two drivers are dead after a head-on collision Saturday night on US 283, about 9.4 miles south of Santa Anna, said the Department of Public Safety.
DPS stated that Olga Cisneros Gutierrez, 54, of Abilene was traveling north in a 2008 Volkswagon Touareg on US 283, and Javier Michael Garcia, 50, of Brady traveled south in a 2005 Nissan Altima. Gutierrez drove on the wrong side of the roadway and struck Garcia's vehicle head on.

Both Gutierrez and Garcia were pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Nance Campbell, and both bodies were taken to Steven Funeral Home in Coleman. A passenger traveling with Gutierrez, Adela Campos Morris, 53, of Clyde survived, but she was transported to Hendrick Medical Center with incapacitating/critical injuries.
Both drivers and the passenger wore seatbelts and the weather conditions were clear and dry, stated DPS. At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
