San Angelo Police Release More Information on the Traffic Crash Involving Two Pedestrians

This past Saturday night, at 8:01 p.m., San Angelo Police responded to the 2000 block of N. Chadbourne Street for a traffic crash involving a 2008 black Dodge Ram and two pedestrians. The officers who arrived on the scene identified the driver of the pickup as 32-year-old Terrance Harris, and the pedestrians as 84-year-old Billy Blair and 83-year-old Eula Blair, said Sgt. Cade Solsbery, public information officer for SAPD.

Solsbery said that Officer Josh Loudermilk with the Traffic Unit was called to investigate the crash. He learned Billy and Eula Blair were crossing Chadbourne Street to get to their vehicle after eating at Western Sky. Harris, who was driving south on Chadbourne, collided with the couple. He did attempt to stop when he saw Billy and Eula Blair in the roadway, but was unable to do so.

Emergency personnel transported the couple to Shannon Hospital with incapacitating injuries. Previously, an officer told San Angelo LIVE! the injuries were non-life-threatening; however, that wasn’t the case. Billy Blair was airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for treatment, but after his arrival, the 84-year-old man succumbed to his injuries. He passed at 5:22 a.m. on Oct. 25, 2015. At this time, Eula Blair remains in ICU, and there are no updates on her condition, Solsbery stated.

The investigation into this crash is still ongoing. Currently, there are no charges pending against Harris, and Solsbery noted that no other information is available for release at this time.
