The driver lived. When paramedics retrieved the approximately 20-year-old male from the vehicle, he was screaming about pain from what appeared to be head trauma. But police said he was taken to Shannon Medical Center with unknown injuries. There were no passengers.
The crash happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. It was raining and police said weather was a contributing factor in the crash. Police did not indicate if the driver was wearing a seatbelt, or if DWI is suspected. The investigation continues at the hospital where the driver will be interviewed.
