Fatal Reeves County Car Accident Claims Life of New Mexico Resident

A resident of New Mexico passed away in a car accident in Reeves County about 5 miles west of Orla, Texas

At 6:25 Monday morning, Roberto Jose Calzadillas, 30, was east bound on RM 652 at a speed of 70 mph without wearing a seatbelt. As he approached a curve, he failed to adjust and partially left the roadway. When Calzadillas tried to correct, he oversteered, skidding across the roadway and into a ditch. The vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, began to roll and Calzadillas was ejected and killed.

The case was investigated by a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper. Calzadillas was a resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
