A San Angelo man had to be cut out of his Ford pickup truck with the Jaws-of-Life early this morning after he exited the roadway at a high rate of speed at the Avenue N and Orient intersection.
According to San Angelo police early this morning, the investigation then revealed that the male driver was traveling east on Avenue N at a high rate of speed and did not maneuver the truck to turn a sharp 45-degree left turn onto Oakes Street. He continued straight ahead and crashed through a steel fence and into a junkyard behind Quint’s Upholstery. He traveled about 100 yards across debris and hit an old engine block on the private property. At some point, the truck entered a side-skid and came to a rest on its side, trapping the driver.
