Motorcycle Driver Down on Bryant

 

A motorcycle driver was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon at approximately 5:30 p.m. after being involved in a crash with a black Toyota Camry four-door sedan at the intersection of S. Bryant and 7th Street.

The crash occurred across the southbound lanes. There is a left turn lane for north-facing traffic to turn onto 7th and cross those lanes to head west and gain access to the Houston Harte Expressway.

As of 6 p.m., traffic was being detoured around the crash scene as police investigate the incident.

Update 6:20 p.m.

The driver of the Camry was south on Bryant in the right-hand lane. The motorcycle was northbound, and turning west onto W. 7th  at the green light without an arrow. During the turn, the Motorcycle was struck by the Camry.

The motorcyclist had injuries to his knee and was transported to the hospital, San Angelo Police Officer Brian Bylsma said.

The driver of the Camry is not hurt.

The motorcyclist was given a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way to the Camry. The motorcycle was a 2012 Suzuki, Bylsma said.
