SUV Pulling U-Haul Trailer Crashes on S. Bryant

A maroon Jeep and a red Dodge truck crashed in front of Stripes in the 1300 block of S. Abe St. on Monday afternoon, causing a U-Haul trailer being pulled behind the Jeep to flip over onto its side.

According to traffic investigator Brian Bylsma, the Jeep was in the second southbound lane and attempted to change lanes so they could turn into Stripes, and didn't see the Dodge truck in that lane. The truck tried to stop, Bylsma said, but it was too late: the vehicles crashed and the U-Haul trailer overturned.

The driver of the Jeep was cited for unsafe lane change.

Two lanes of traffic were closed for about 30 minutes.
