A male suspect involved in a vehicle and foot pursuit Sunday at approximately 1 a.m. is wanted by police, after running from a crashed out maroon 2009 Acura four-door sedan.
An officer observed two vehicles that were speeding at MLK and 19th on Sunday and attempted to stop one of them at 19th and Volney, Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez reports. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
As the car approached 19th and Henderson, the driver struck a curb and crashed, causing major front-end damage to the vehicle, Gonzalez said. The driver, a young, tall, Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, ran from the scene when the officer approached.
Police then established a perimeter in the area, but the suspect was not located. A 28-year-old female passenger remained in the vehicle after the crash and sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment. She was not charged with anything.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located a small notebook near the gas pedal. Inside the notebook was a small baggy that contained a crystal-like substance.
This case was assigned for further investigation. The suspect's identity has not been released.
