Driver Extracted from Vehicle at Crash on Harris and Chadbourne

 

San Angelo police and firemen are currently working to clear the streets of a major motor vehicle crash at Chadbourne and Harris downtown. 

The crash involves a a grey Nissan Sentra and a Hyundai Sonata. The driver of the Senata had to be assisted the driver's side of the vehicle. She has now been placed on a stretcher.

Southbound traffic on Chadbourne is being diverted to W. Harris. All other lanes at the intersection are blocked. 

Wreckers are on scene and are working to clear the road. 

Update 1:04 p.m.

The investigating officer relayed that the driver of the 2012 Hyundai was going south through the left turning lane of Chadbourne because there was a vehicle in the southbound lane stopped at the red light.

The Sentra was eastbound on Harris and the Hyundai ran the red light. 

The driver of the Hyundai has broken bones in the incident, and the driver of the Sentra has some scrapes from the seatbelt. 

The Hyundai driver will be cited for running the red light.
