SAN ANGELO- The TLCA Eagles have moved to 3-0 after beating the Monahans Loboes (4-3) in their opening game of the Doug McCutchen Basketball Tournament.
Watch TLCA’s Preston Romero drive to the basket and makes the shot and draws a foul, Jaidden Villanueva impressive ball handling which eventually leads to a Jelan Johnson steal, and a Monahans tip drill end in the Eagles’ Oviedo taking a charge.
Going into the fourth quarter, the Eagles were up 58-30 and while the Loboes did put pressure on TLCA in the third, it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit and the Eagles won 73-52. The Eagles will play the 7-5 Brandeis Broncos Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Lake View in the championship bracket.
