Anson High School Hires Familiar Face as Head Coach

ANSON, TX- Anson ISD has found its next head football coach in an old coordinator.

The Anson Tigers have hired former Lockney head coach Cory McCombs to take over as the head coach and athletic director. Last season, McCombs took the Lockney Longhorns to a winning record and the playoffs.

McCombs was at Lockney for one season and is making the change for family. For the first 11 years of his career, McCombs was at Anson as an assistant for 2 years, then the defensive coordinator for the other 9.

McCombs takes over the program over from Chris Hagler and gets a team that has made the playoffs 7 straight times.

Anson plays in the same region as Christoval, Ozona, Sonora, and Winters.
