WATCH: Abilene Wylie Bulldog Sets Texas Weightlifting Records

 

ABILENE, TX- An Abilene Wylie Senior has set new state weightlifting records for squat and deadlift.

Xzavier Collins, who played defensive tackle and guard for the Bulldogs, set a new Texas state records with an 830 lbs. squat and a 745 lbs. deadlift.

Collins has signed with Texas Wesleyan to play college ball. He was adopted in the 7th grade and grew up in the foster system. Committed to getting to the next level, Collin’s day could’ve started at 4:00 a.m.

After Collins signed with Texas Wesleyan, Wylie Head Coach Clay Martin said, " I think the sky's the limit for X'Zavier. It's a great feeling to see all those guys up there, but X'Zavier is someone that's well deserving and someone we're so proud of."

Collins is projected to play defensive lineman.
