The Cisco Loboes take on the 5th Ranked Hawley Bearcats in Playoff Match-Up

ABILENE, TX – The Cisco Loboes take on the Hawley Bearcats this Friday in Abilene at 7:00 p.m. at Shotwell Stadium.

Cisco (11-2, 4-1 in district) travels down I-20 to take on the 5th ranked team in 2A Division 1, the undefeated Hawley Bearcats (13-0, 5-0 in district).

Cisco just knocked 6th ranked New Deal out of the playoffs with a 34-14 win over the Lions where Hawley just beat the 9th ranked Coleman Bluecats 21-7.

The Loboes offense is led by quarterback Hunter Long and running back Trent Huston. Combined, both players have 43 touchdowns on the ground and over 3,000 yards rushing, Cisco is averaging 300.7 yards.

While Cisco is a run heavy team, when they do decide to pass the ball, recievers Tre Brackeen, averaging 21.2 yard per catch and Kasen Conring, averaging 21.3 yards per catch, will make plays. Senior Dawson Hearne has the impressive stat of 10 receptions and 6 touchdowns.

Rushing the ball seems like the way to go against this Hawley defense. Junior Kyle Nichols, who has 11 sacks, 95 total tackles, and 27 tackles for loss, is just the start. On the season, Hawley has 149 tackles for loss, 39.5 sacks, and 24 interceptions.

Juniors Will Scott and Kason O’Shields lead the team in interceptions with 7 each.

Hawley’s offense puts the ball in the air more than Cisco, but they still average 186.4 yards rushing and have 40 combined rushing touchdowns.

Receiving, Kason O’Shields leads the team in yards with 708 and is tied with 8 touchdowns. Senior Aeneas Billington and Sophmore Chandlin Myers help the ariel attack with 504 and 355 yards respectively and 12 combined touchdowns.

Cisco’s Tre Brackeen leads his defense with 6 interceptions.
