PLAYOFF NEWS: Potential Christoval Opponent Forced to Forfeit 7 Wins

BURTON, TX- A potential match-up in the playoffs for the Christoval Cougars has gotten shaken up by the University Interscholastic League.

The Burton Panthers, who were 8-1 (4-1 in district), had to forfeit 7 wins for playing an ineligible player. Burton was positioned to go into the playoffs as the 1st seed in their district.

Burton will not appeal to the UIL.

The Panthers are still in playoff contention at 1-4 in district but will need some help to snag the 4th spot.

The Snook Bluejays would have to beat Milano this week and Burton needs to win against Iola.

Should Burton get into the playoffs, they could potentially match-up against Christoval in the first round. Last season, Burton had to bow out of their game against Christoval due to COVID.
