Multiple Roads Around Dove Creek Impassable Due to Flooding

 

DOVE CREEK, TX - Numerous roads near Dove Creek have been deemed impassable as of 10 p.m. due to high water, according to the Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Affected roads include Lagoon, Dove Creek Lane East, Pecan Lane, Twin Lakes Lane, and the low water crossing. Authorities urge drivers to avoid these areas and refrain from driving through high water. 

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of west-central Texas, including southeastern Tom Green County, north-central Schleicher County, and west-central Concho County. The warning remains in effect until 12:30 a.m. CST Friday.

At 11:37 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was detected near Christoval, moving northeast at 20 mph. The storm poses a hazard of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail, with radar indicating potential damage to vehicles, roofs, siding, and trees.

Residents in affected areas, including Concho, Schleicher, and Tom Green counties, are advised to seek shelter indoors, preferably in an interior room on the lowest floor of their building, to protect against possible wind and hail damage.

In addition, a Flash Flood Warning is in place for the San Angelo area, valid until 3:15 a.m. CST.
