Tom Green County Unemployment Rates Rise in June

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Tom Green County experienced an increase in its unemployment rate in June, rising to 4.0% from 3.3% in May, according to the latest data from the Texas Workforce Commission.

The number of unemployed residents in Tom Green County grew from 1,882 in May to 2,277 in June. 

Despite this increase in unemployment, overall employment in the county saw a rise from 55,218 in May to 55,353 in June. 

The total civilian labor force also expanded, from 57,100 in May to 57,630 last month.

Comparatively, the unemployment rate in June 2023 was slightly higher at 4.1%, with 2,340 people unemployed. 

The state’s unemployment rate stayed the same at 4 percent.
