2024 Sales Tax Revenues Up for City, County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - All Tom Green County entities reported growth this month for sales and tax distributions.

For Tom Green County, it received $1,204,484 in May, an increase of 0.48 percent from when it collected $1,198,652 in May 2023.

Over the course of the year so far, the county’s rebate totals are up by 0.89 percent from last year, at $5,508,860 compared to $5,459,768.

The City of San Angelo brought in $3,506,382 this month, a 1.13 percent improvement from the $3,466,920 received in May of last year.

So far in 2024, the city’s receipts are $15,667,352, up 1.00 percent from a year ago, when its total was $15,511,539.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported that the state paid out $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations this month, up 0.4 percent from last May and up 1.7 percent for the year to date.
