Sheriff's Deputies & Home Depot Save Local Woman from Freezing

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office joined forces with Home Depot on Monday, Jan. 15, to assist an elderly resident facing heating issues and discomfort.

The initiative began when Home Depot received a distress call from an elderly customer reporting a malfunctioning heater and physical discomfort.

Responding to the situation, Sheriff Deputies conducted a welfare check and engaged with the concerned female resident.

Recognizing the immediate need for action, Deputies coordinated efforts with Home Depot management, who generously donated space heaters and essential supplies.

Expressing their commitment to community welfare, Home Depot's contribution played a vital role in addressing the urgent situation.

With the donated supplies in tow, Sheriff Deputies returned to the resident's home, installing the heaters and making necessary minor repairs to ensure the citizen's safety and warmth.

“Thank you to the staff at Home Depot for letting us know about the situation and for assisting our citizens in need,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “This is yet another example of why our West Texas community spirit is such an amazing thing to witness. Take care of each other and be safe.”
