Tom Green County Commissioners Reinstate Burn Ban After Just 1 Week

SAN ANGELO – Tom Green County Commissioners Tuesday morning reinstated a ban on all outdoor burning in Tom Green County after lifting the ban seven days ago.

The court lifted the burn ban temporarily to give residents a chance to burn excess trash and brush in the county.

The burn ban is effective immediately and will remain in place until the Commissioners Court rescinds the ban.

Controlled burns and prescribed burns conducted by certified experts and scheduled with County and Fire officials are exempt from the burn ban by state law.

The Tom Green County burn ban allows outdoor cooking with gas grills.  Residents are urged to use extreme caution when cooking outdoors.
