Despite School Closures 2022 Tom Green County Livestock Show is a Go

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Despite numerous schools in the county temporarily closing Friday because of the rise of COVID-19 infections, the 2022 Tom Green County Jr. Livestock Show is scheduled to continue as planned this weekend.

According to the Tom Green County Agrilife Extension Agency, as of Jan. 12, the Tom Green County Livestock Show will run as scheduled beginning Jan. 14.

As previously reported schools across the Concho Valley including the SAISD have decided to cancel classes on Friday. The majority of the school point to staffing problems as the reason. For more click here.

The livestock shows kick off Friday at 3 p.m. with the Market Goat Show. Then on Saturday Ag Mechanics is at 8 a.m., Swine and Lamb Show at 8:00 a.m., Broiler show at 8:30 a.m., Rabbit show at 10:00 a.m., and the Heifer and Steer show at 10 a.m.

Later in the evening there will be a Barbecue supper served at the Gandy Ink Pavillion starting at 5:30 p.m. Following dinner there will be the premium sale and a cake auction beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The show will end with the award ceremony and the sale of champions at 7:30 p.m.
