Sheriff's Office Warning Rabies Confirmed in Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's would like to alert community members in the Harriett area of the county of a public safety concern stemming from one confirmed case of a kitten having rabies.  

Citizens are encouraged to make sure their pets are properly vaccinated and call the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office immediately at (325)655-8111, if they see a suspected case.  

Signs of rabies include, but are not limited to:

 

  •  Loss of appetite
  • Aggressiveness/irritability
  • Hypersensitivity to light, touch and sound
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Fever
  • Lethargy/paralysis
  • Seizures
  • Disorientation/staggering.
