COVID-19 Fears Close All Tom Green County Parks for Independence Day Weekend

SAN ANGELO, TX – All county owned parks in Tom Green County will be closed for all purposes beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday according to an order released by Tom Green County Judge Steve Floyd Wednesday morning.

As we reported earlier, all city parks around Lake Nasworthy were closed as well.

Dr. James Vretis issued the order which states: "Beginning at 8 p.m. July 2, 2020 all public park areas located in Tom Green County but outside the City of San Angelo city limits shall be closed to the public for any and all activities.

These areas include but are not limited to the following:  Foster Park, Pugh Park, Mineral Wells Crossing, and the low water crossing in Christoval.

The closure of these areas shall continue through 8 a.m. on July 13 unless otherwise rescinded by future order.

The only exception is Pugh Park from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on July 4, 2020 for the Christoval VFD annual Fun Run."

Good ole Vretis! Nothing better than one single person making panic based decisions for thousands of people.

So glad we were able to vote him into office!
