United Way of the Concho Valley Accepting Applications for Venture Grants

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The United Way of the Concho Valley said venture grants will be awarded to fund qualifying projects in the 14 counties that comprise the Concho Valley. They include Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Runnels, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green Counties.

A venture grant is a small, non-recurring grant designed to fund local projects of non-profit organizations that have a 501(c)(3) IRS tax status. Grant requests may not exceed $5,000. To obtain a 2018 United Way of the Concho Valley Venture Grant application form or for more information, please contact Robyn Flores at the United Way office at (325) 949-3716. Applications for project grants must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29.

The United Way of the Concho Valley currently funds 19 agency programs that provide services in all of the 14 counties. They include:

  • Adult Literacy Council’s English as a Second Language,
  • Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley’s Adult Treatment Program,
  • Boys & Girls Club of Menard’s Project Learn Program,
  • Boys & Girls Club of San Angelo’s Education and Career Development Program,
  • Children’s Advocacy Center’s Court Appointed Special Advocate Program and the Hope House Program,
  • Children’s Emergency Shelter’s Safe & Sound Program,
  • Concho Valley Home for Girls’ Connect by 25 Program, Concho Valley Regional Food Bank’s Hunger Relief Program,
  • Galilee Community Development Corporation’s Helping Hands Program,
  • Girl Scouts of Central Texas’ SISTERS Program,
  • ICD Family Shelter’s Peace Begins at Home Program,
  • San Angelo Early Childhood Center’s Infant, Toddler & Pre K Program,
  • Sonrisas Trail’s Pediatric Therapeutic Riding Program,
  • Texas Southwest Council Boy Scouts of America’s Nurturing Youth Through Cub Scouts Program,
  • The Salvation Army’s Emergency Assistance Program,
  • West Texas Counseling & Guidance Center’s Community-wide Reduced Fee Counseling Program and Veterans Outreach Program, and
  • YMCA’s Scholarships for After-School Care Program.

Applications for United Way program funding for the 2019-2020 fiscal year will open August 6 and close October 19. Call the United Way of the Concho Valley office for information regarding program funding. The residents of all 14 counties are encouraged to support the United Way of the Concho Valley this year through donations so that the United Way can support their communities through services.
