SAN ANGELO, TX – The Concho Valley Council of Governments will be hosting its Annual General Assembly meeting on 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 11.
The CVCOG is celebrating 50 years of service to the Concho Valley and will be presented with a resolution from the Texas House of Representatives from State Representative Drew Darby as well as special recognition from State Senator Charles Perry.
The CVCOG is a voluntary organization of local governments formed to foster a cooperative effort in resolving problems, policies, and plans that are common and regional.
The CVCOG serves 14 counties including: Coke, Concho, Crockett, Edwards, Irion, Kimble, McCulloch, Mason, Menard, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green Counties.
With programs such as the Area Agency on Aging, 2-1-1 Texas, Regional 9-1-1, Criminal Justice, Head Start, Homeland Security, Regional Services, Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, and the Concho Valley Transit District, the CVCOG’s mission is to support each unit of local government in the Concho Valley region, to seek to reach community goals, and to provide services in the most effective and efficient manner for the lowest possible cost.
