Disaster Relief Loans are Available for June Storm Damage to Homes and Businesses

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Representatives with the U.S. Small Business Administration are in San Angelo offering low interest loans to businesses, homeowners and renters  who had storm damage or economic losses because of storms on June 23 – 26. 

According to R. Gary Colton, Public Information Officer with the SBA, area businesses can borrow up to $2 million for physical damage or economic injury due to the storms.  “Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery and equipment are available to any size business.” 

Homeowners can borrow up to $200,000 to repair or replace their primary residence and homeowners and renters can borrow up to $40,000 to replace personal property. 

Governor Greg Abbott declared Tom Green County a disaster area after severe June storms, SBA's assistance is available in Coke, Concho, Irion, Menard, Reagan, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling and Tom Green counties. Click here for more information. 

Colton says representatives are in San Angelo beginning Monday, July 31st through Thursday, August 17th on the second floor of the Edd B. and Frances Frink Keyes Building at 113 W. Beauregard Ave.  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are three ways to apply for an SBA loan; online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela, in person at the Keyes Building, or by completing a paper application and mailing it to the SBA at 14925 Kingsport Rd., Ft. Worth, TX 76155-2243. 

The deadline to apply for an SBA disaster loan for the June storms is September 25, 2017 for physical damage and April 26, 2018 for economic injury.
