Mary Casper has announced she is running for Chair of the Tom Green County Republican Party.
“Many of my friends bemoan the lack of viable choices between candidates for elected offices. I have too and decided it’s time for me to step up and walk the walk. It’s not that the job has been done poorly but that presenting a different viewpoint keeps an organization healthy and growing. It’s with that in mind that I’m taking this step.”
Mary went on to say, “I’m increasingly concerned that my grandchildren and great-grandchildren won’t know the blessings of liberty and prosperity that made this country exceptional and this state the envy of the world. As a conservative, I want to keep the best of the past while working for a better future.”
Mary comes from a strong military background. Her father fought in World War II, and her husband is a retired Vietnam vet. They’ve lived in San Angelo for the past 33 years, where Mary has raised and boarded horses, taught English riding and been a therapeutic riding instructor. An active volunteer with Concerned Veterans for America, she went to Washgington, D.C. last spring to lobby Congress for better treatment of our veterans and wounded warriors.
“The next two years will determine the fate of this great American experiment in government of the people, by the people and for the people. We can’t afford to be complacent or passive. I certainly won’t be, and I invite all the residents of Tom Green County to join me in making a difference—for our children and grandchildren.”
