Autopsy Report Reveals Cause of Death in Woman Found Dead in Truck on Sterling City Highway

The cause behind the mysterious death of Midland woman located deceased in her truck on Old Sterling City Highway this summer has been determined to be a drug overdose.

According to an autopsy and toxicology report from a Lubbock medical examiner and Pennsylvania toxicologist, the 28-year-old woman, Heather McCall, died of “acute methamphetamine intoxication”. During the autopsy, two bags of a white, “crystalline substance” were also located in her clothing.

McCall was located on July 18 in the 16000 block of Old Sterling City Highway by residents of the area in the passenger seat of her Dodge Ram 1500, deceased. An investigation was launched into the death immediately; however, investigators stated in August that they did not suspect foul play.

The date of death is not listed in the autopsy report; however, when she was located on July 18, a witness at the scene stated that he had seen her truck parked in the same position one day prior.
