A 23-year-old man left his clothes in the clothes dryer and went to work. By 10 a.m. the mobile home he was renting was engulfed in flames.
The Grape Creek VFD responded and had the fire under control by 11:30 a.m. Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies provided traffic control.

“I was just getting back on my feet and my house literally burns down,” Nicholas Pharr, the renter, said. Inside, his furniture and brand new flat screen TV were destroyed.
Two Doberman Pinscher dogs were in the backyard. When the fire started, a neighbor rescued the dogs.

Pharr doesn’t know where he will reside now that his rental has been gutted by fire.

The fire was in the 60 block of Sage Rd. near the Pepper Ln. intersection. When the Grape Creek VFD arrived, flames were visible coming out of the openings in the house.
