Monday was another slow day for bookings at the Tom Green County Jail.
There were 15 inmates taken into custody. From those, five were taken into custody in other counties and transported to TGCJ where they awaited Border Patrol authorities.
David Vera, Border Patrol Operations Officer at the Strategic Communications Branch in Del Rio says that it is a common practice for smaller counties to transport illegals to the nearest town to await deportation. Such is the case here where two were arrested in Winters, Texas and the three others in Regan County.
Juan Carlos Carrillo-Ramirez, 34; Juan Delgadillo-Rangel, 25; Fernando Delgadillo-Torres, 20; Jose Enrique Munoz-Alvarez, 23; and Paulino Portiyo-Acuna, 26 all had a short stay at the TGCJ. As of 11 a.m. this morning they were released to Border Patrol agents.
