A Tom Green County grand jury met for two days in November and issued 103 indictments for 93 accused offenders with criminal charges filed in the 51st, 119th, 340th and 391st District Courts.
As has been a recurring trend in the area, drugs and theft once again accounted for over half of the indictments issued, at 44 total drug-related offenses and 34 total theft-related charges that include burglaries, forgeries, credit/debit card abuse, car theft and a robbery.
Crimes against children are down by half as compared to the six of last month, however among the two individuals indicted, one has been charged with two different counts of sex crimes.
There were approximately 9 charges related to violence and 11 individuals indicted on at least their third DWI, or driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old in the vehicle.
Warrants have been issued for only seven of those indicted. Some of those indicted were charged with more than one crime or more than one count of the same crime on the same indictment. We have counted these as individual offenses. A handful of accused offenders have been indicted in previous months for different charges.
