Drugs Down, Aggravated Offenses Up in September Indictments

 

A grand jury has returned the indictment list for the month of September after meeting for two days this month, showing a hike in aggravated charges (9) and a dip in drug-related offenses at 28.

In July and August, drugs accounted for roughly 50 percent of the indictments issued in Tom Green County; in September they dropped to about a third of the 88 total issued.

Driving while intoxicated and DWI with a child under 15 were up this month at five and three, respectively, while five individuals were indicted for aggravated robbery. Another 22 were indicted on various forms of theft, robbery, burglary and forgery.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of 29 accused criminals in the county, while 77 people were indicted in total.
