Sheriff David Jones has confirmed that a tornado touched down near Grape Creek between 7 and 8 p.m. Jones provided a preliminary report of the damage, stating that as of yet only a single house is known to have collapsed due to the tornado, however further damage is possible and will be reported at a later date.
The city’s emergency sirens sounded at approximately 8:30 p.m., when the tornado is reported to have been traveling toward the 3000 block of N. Bell St. We have not yet been able to confirm the origin or direction, however it is believed to have started near 2105 and 208.
The National Weather Service in San Angelo advised that tornadic activity is building and heading toward Wall and Veribest. Citizens are urged to remain indoors and check emergency alerts for updates.

Power outages have been reported all over town. The following list depicts the number of customers affected in each zip code:

Reports of major damage centered around the intersection of 3rd Street and Oakes and a power line down at 4th and Oakes Street.
A building has appeared in the parking lot of Central Freshman Campus and its origin is unknown.
Unconfirmed report of a chimney blowing off of PaulAnn Baptist Church.
9: 45 PM--Report from Ave C and Rust Street: The Sea Arrow Marine building has collapsed, owner said building is a total loss and they have not been allowed to inspect the damage further.
Several Facebook posts report fences blown down and tree limbs broken and power poles down around town.
Construction signs on US Highway 67 north of the 277/67 split are down.
