A thunderstorm came rolling through San Angelo at approximately 8 p.m. tonight. Winds were observed exceeding 50 mph on the southwest side of town Golf ball-sized hail fell throughout the area, especially near the airport.
This is an open thread to report on power outages and damage caused by the storm.
Update 9:07 p.m.
Power is out in the 76903 area from Concho downtown and south to Washington. The eastern boundary seems to be Oakes St. AEP reports 700 meters without electricity. Most of them in 76903 zip code.
Update 9:21 p.m.
Top wind speed at the airport was 82 mph at 8:22 p.m.; the Bentwood area experienced 39mph winds according to Paul Alexander's weather instruments.
Update 9:28 p.m.
County/City Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Mild is monitoring the weather and events from the airport. He said that minor damage is reported in residential areas east of the airport and in and around the downtown area. The weather service is monitoring a less severe thunderstorm cell west of San Angelo, moving north, northeast towards Grape Creek/Carlsbad area. The northwest side of San Angelo may experience high winds, up to 50 m.p.h. he said.

Update 9:42 p.m.
San Angelo Fire Dept. is fighting a pole fire at W 23rd St. and Weaver. Power line down reports at:
- 300 W. Concho Ave.
- E. 26th St. at Marx
- 400 45th St.
- 2100 Mesquite

This is 305 W. Concho Avenue, when that big gust of wind went through San Angelo it snapped off our 40 foot tall tree, took down some power lines, we have no power on Concho Ave. (Reader Barbara Strain)

Update 10:21 p.m.
Weather radar shows only a line of rainshowers approaching San Angelo from the southwest and moving north, northeast. The storms appear to be over. AEP is reporting approximately 800 addresses without power, most of them within the 76903 zip code.
Update 10:31 p.m.
The railroad crossing arm at the railroad crossing on Kncikerbocker Rd. near Valley View was blown off its hinge and is laying across the road.
