There was a major traffic accident on US hwy 67 west of San Angelo in the vicinity of 12-Mile Bridge around 4:20 p.m. which brought traffic on the busy highway to a standstill until just before 6 p.m., when the line of vehicles reached more than 2.5 miles.
6 p.m --. DPS Officer at scene: Driver of the the white car was travelling southbound and the driver of the truck was northbound on Highway 67 when the driver of the white car veered into the oncoming lane resulting in the collision.
No other information is available as the incident is under investigation.

5:24 p.m.
Home Motors on location to remove vehicles; Traffic should resume when roadway has been cleared.
5:15 p.m.
Vehicles involved are a gold Ford F-250 with major damage to front driver's side --driver's door is not attached. Left front wheel is not attached.
White Dodge Avenger also with major damage to front end, and appears to be mainly on driver's side.
Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, TxDot and DPS are at the scene along with fire truck from Dove Creek VFD and the San Angelo Fire Department who brought Jaws of Life to extract driver from Dodge Avenger.
Both driver's were taken from the scene by ambulance but we have no information about thier condition or any injuries they may have sustained.
5:00 p.m.--Reporter is on foot hiking to the scene of the accident; said traffic backed up for about two miles and not moving.
