San Angelo Man Busted Making Fake Money

Don't play Monopoly with Jeffrey McGowan; the 46-year-old San Angeloan was arrested on Wednesday for suspected involvement in a counterfeit-money-making ring.

Members of the SAPD's Criminal Investigations and Patrol Divisions, and the U.S. Secret Service served an arrest warrant at a residence in the 4200 block of S. Jackson St. on Jan. 29, where they located McGowan in the residence along with counterfeit equipment and several fake bills.

The Secret Service seized the money-machine and the fake cash, and McGowen was booked with Forgery-National Government Instrument and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
