Christmas at Old Fort Concho

Christmas at Old Fort Concho’s Sunday morning chuckwagon breakfast has been cancelled because of frigid temperatures, but the Cowboy Church Service will still be held at 10 a.m. in the heated Fort Concho Stables on Henry O. Flipper Street. There is no admission charge for the church service.

“The cooks for the breakfast work outside on the Parade Ground,” Fort Concho Manager Bob Bluthardt said, “and given the extremely low temperatures predicted at dawn, it was thought best to cancel this portion of the event.”

The church service will feature the music of the Sweet Song String Band.

Christmas at Old Fort Concho expects to operate its overall Sunday schedule as posted from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
