Trend Furniture Thief Caught with Public's Help

Citizens of San Angelo have done it again—help put another criminal behind bars. This time tipsters called in to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and helped locate 39-year-old furniture thief Mark Anthony Serrano of San Angelo.

On Monday, Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of Irving St., where stolen items and evidence were recovered.

A second search in the 300 block of Milton St. turned up additional stolen items; the Sheriff’s Office is still seeking information in relation to this crime and is anticipating additional arrests.

Serrano was charged with Third Degree Felony of Property, which is punishable by two-10 years in state prison and a fine up to $10,000.

The Sheriff’s Office requests that anyone who has information pertaining to the furniture theft or resale contact Detective Ray Mellas at 325-655-8111.
