Wall Resident Passes after Bee Attack

 

Wall lost a senior resident on Thursday of last week, as a result of an attack that took place on a riding lawn mower.

The accident occurred in the afternoon in the 5500 block of FM765 in Wall. Responding to a call for medical assistance of an unconscious person at 4:32 p.m., Tom Green County Sheriff’s office, Wall Voluntary Fire Department and Shannon Airmed 1 arrived on the scene to find the body of Bessie Wilde, 87, deceased.

Wilde had suffered an attack from a swarm of bees while mowing her yard, and although several attempts were made by neighbors to aid the victim prior to the arrival of the officers, none of them were successful.

Deputies and fire department personnel had to wear protective gear to retrieve the victim, a Tom Green County press release states.
