In light of the impending onset of the Affordable Care Act, Shannon Medical Center is offering certified counselors to assist with the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace, which is where one receives information and assistance in selecting a plan and enrolling.
Those currently uninsured have until December 15 to be enrolled in coverage that begins January 1, 2014.
People insured by private affordable healthcare offered by their place of employment or Medicare are not eligible for subsidies in the Marketplace or required to make any changes for health coverage.
Appointments for counseling and information at Shannon are available starting Wednesday, October 16.
