SAN ANGELO, TX – Chipotle Mexican Grill is looking to open a second location in San Angelo even before the first one opens.
According to the May 2022 building and inspections report, a permit has been submitted to build a $300,000 Chipotle Mexican Grill at 5590 Sherwood Way.
There is currently one Chipotle already being constructed on the 3500 block of S. Jackson. When last reported on it was told to us that this location would open this summer. Here is a video of that building.
The second Chipotle will be in the same shopping center as the new Kohl's building. The shopping center, named the shops at Sherwood, will is currently under construction. In Abilene, a city with more than 20,000 people than San Angelo, they only have one Chipotle. In the past San Angelo had a Freebirds Wold Burritos which is a similar style restaurant. It closed in 2017.

PermalinkWith so many excellent family owned Mexican places in this area, why go to a fast food chain? I've never been to a Chipotle, and don't have it on my bucket list.
