Susan Clinton Saari age 78, passed through the gates of heaven on September 6, 2024, to join all of her loved ones waiting for her on the other side. She fought the good fight in a long battle with rheumatic heart disease from childhood.
Susan was born October 28, 1945 in Lubbock, TX to Morris and Rebecca Clinton. She was graduate of Monterey High School in 1964 and a Texas Tech graduate in 1968 with a degree in art education.
Her working years were spent in teaching in Austin, TX. Followed by 20 years with the Bell Telephone System in Texas and Colorado. Finally she realized her dreams of owning her own book store while living in Las Cruces, NM.
Susan was a talented artist, busy gardener and avid reader. She was a proud Texan, a decedent of heroes of the Alamo and San Jacinto. She was a strong Christian having been raised in the Baptist faith and baptized at the age of 7.
Susan considered San Angelo her home and loved all the friendly people that she made as good friends and neighbors.
Susan is preceded in death by parents and older sister Judy Clinton Graves and husband Richard Brynolff Saari. She is survived by her niece, Jana Webster and husband Rick, of McKinney, TX, nephew, Greg Graves and wife Erica, of Lubbock, TX, great nieces, Jennifer Mazurek and Olivia Graves, great nephews, Nick Webster and Cash Graves, sister, Morrisa Clinton, of Aurora, CO, and special cousin, Tom Clinton, of Bozeman, MT.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm at The Heights Church, 4512 Sherwood Way, San Angelo, TX 76901.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
