Sunny McCormick Stinson, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on September 2,1938 in Littlefield, Texas, to Jack and Mary (Favor) McCormick. Sunny married Ronald Stinson on January 11, 1957, in Muleshoe, Texas. They met at Muleshoe High School in class where Sunny had just started school. Ron and his buddies were acting up in class and the teacher made him go sit in the front of the class next to her as she was sitting alone. They had known each other for three months before they married. Sunny and Ron shared 67 and a half years of marriage together. Most of those years they worked side-by-side in their upholstery business, Ron’s Coach Works. Throughout the years they were constant companions going to antique car shows, swap meets and traveling in the motor home that Ron built. They made lifelong friendships with many wonderful people. Those who knew Sunny delighted in her continual “sunny” disposition and love for her family and friends. She never met a stranger, treated everyone like family, and was “Mom” to many. Sunny is survived by her husband, Ronald, children, Terry Clark (Dewey), Donna Stinson, Carol Stevens, and Betty Jo Switalski (Mike). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Matthew Clark, Michael Clark (Tyara), Mitchell Clark, Jerod Williams (Michelle), Grant Stevens (Jessica), Andrew Stevens (Alison), Shelly Revia, Anthony Switalski (Amanda), John Switalski, Kaila Switalski and sixteen great grandchildren. Sunny’s request was not to have a funeral but often said we should have a party. So in lieu of a funeral the family will have a celebration of life later at a date to be determined.
