Allene Henniger McGill, at the age of 89, passed away on May 16, 2024, in San Angelo.
Allene was born in Miles, TX on January 29, 1936, and lived most of her life in and around San Angelo, TX. She worked at General Telephone Co., San Angelo Standard Times, Batjer & Associates in Abilene, TX, Ethicon, Hall McCoulskey Bachman & McDonough CPA’s and retired in 2008 from Texas A&M Research Center in San Angelo. She enjoyed her work and being a homemaker, gardening, and yard work.
Allene is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Henniger and Karoline (Lena) Pfeiffer Henniger both previously of Elm Grove, TX, her brother, Clarence Henniger, and the LOVE of her LIFE, her son, Michael Jay McGill.
She is survived by her grandson, Skylar McGill of San Angelo; her sister, Jerlene Smith of Brady, TX; three nieces; four nephews; and six cousins.
Allene proclaimed her deep love for God’s name, Jehovah (Psalms 83:18) and the Kingdom that’s been put in the hands of God’s Son, Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:9, 10). She truly appreciated the ransom sacrifice. She dearly loved her family, friends, her spiritual brothers and sisters and her pets.
A special thank you to her doctors and the kind nurses of Concho Hearts Hospice, especially sweet Alba, whom she loved, and Nichole. Also, the nurses and staff of Baycrest Assisted Living. To her dedicated brother and sisters of her church that so graciously prepared meals and stopped by for quick visits. A kind thank you to her dear friends, Irene Jolly, Angie Pullen, Irma Hackney, Mary Seouls and Joyce Warrington. Finally, to her many neighbors of San Angelo Orchard RV Park, especially David and Jean Matula, all of whom were like family to her and she loved so dearly.
