Richard Blan Venable, 72, of San Angelo, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Richard was born April 23, 1952, in Starkville, MS., to James and Blanche (Poff) Venable. He graduated from West Aurora High School, Aurora, IL, in 1970, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He earned a degree in geography and regional studies from the University of North Texas, graduating cum lade in 1975.
He was a longtime resident of San Angelo, and had previously resided in Lubbock, Ft. Worth, El Reno, OK, Aurora, IL, Denton, and Cleburne. He had been employed as a cartographer and engineering technician and was a caregiver for several relatives. In later years he became an investor. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by several cousins and two very special friends, Cynthia Chambers of Lubbock and Diane Schmahl of Abilene.
At his request, no visitation or service of any kind is planned. The burial will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Ft. Worth.
