Imogene “Jean” Jefferson Sullivan, 89, retired, died peacefully April 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Bronte, Texas on January 11, 1935, she was a long-time resident of San Angelo.
During her life, she pursued her passions and hobbies of crafting, floral arrangement, sewing, baking, gardening, homemaking, and spending time with family and her four-legged companions. She was a skilled cosmetologist, winning several awards for her work, and she was fond of volunteering for causes in her community. Ever warm and gregarious, she enjoyed making friends and was active in the Baptist Retirement Community for many years. She was also a member- at-large of the ESA sorority.
Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Helen Hayes, Hazel Jetton, Harold “Jack” Hayes, Geraldine “Jerry” Hayes, and Joanne Hayes. Her beloved husband of 42 years, Lawrence Earl Sullivan, Jr., also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Ed Jefferson; her granddaughters, Brooke and Kendall Jefferson; and their mother, Margo Jefferson. Jean will be remembered as a loving parent and grandparent and a devoted friend. Her spirited nature, kindness, sense of humor, and compassion will be missed by those who knew her.
Memorial service will be held at the Baptist Retirement Community chapel Monday, April 29 at 1 pm.
