Charlotte Long Sebesta, 64, of San Angelo, TX, passed away on April18, 2023 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Charlotte was born on July 8, 1958 to Charles and Faye Long in San Angelo, TX. After graduating from Lakeview High School, she went on to study nursing. She decided she was better fit in a supportive medical role and became a medical transcriptionist; she stayed in that position for over 30 years. She also briefly taught classes for medical transcription at Howard College. After retiring from medical transcription, Charlotte went back to school to receive her Pharmacy Technician certification. After receiving her certification, she worked in the pharmacy at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center for a few years. She retired in 2019.
In 1978, Charlotte met her husband Charlie at Eagles Pool Hall in San Angelo, TX. They went on to get married in 1980. Charlotte and Charlie went on to have two children, Cortney and Callie. She loved taking her girls on as many adventures as possible. She took them to Disney World, family reunions in Colorado, and New York City. If she wasn’t taking them all over the country, she was taking them for a quick weekend trip to Dallas or San Antonio just to get away or to go shopping.
Charlotte loved to travel and spend time with her family. Her favorite travel destination was Colorado. She traveled there every other year to go to her family reunions to spend time with her extended family and escape the Texas summer heat! She also enjoyed traveling abroad. Her favorite place she traveled was Rome, Italy. There she got to attend an Easter Sunday Service at the Vatican, which she spoke of fondly. Another of her favorite trips was the cruise she took to the Caribbean with her husband, Charlie.
Charlotte can also be remembered for not being just Cortney’s and Callie’s mom, but for being everyone’s mom, Mama Charlotte. She was Mimi to her grandbabies. She was a mom to anyone who needed one. She always took care of everyone before she took care of herself.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father Charlie, mother Faye, and son Cameron. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charlie, her daughter Cortney and her husband Michael, her daughter Callie, and her husband Justin and three children Chase, Maci, and Eden. She is also survived by her brother Ricky, his three children Seth, Rebecca, Sean and their spouses and children, and numerous other cousins and family members across the country.
She is also survived by her four bonus daughters Brenna, Nancy, Angela, and granddaughter Briley, and three very special friends Mary Ann Corley, Martin Valis, and Denize Jordan.
