Sharon Rose Matthews, 64, died December 21, 2021 at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo,Texas. She was born March 16,1957 in Spearman, TX to Martha Anglin Matthews and Caddo Matthews.
As a child and youth, her home was Colorado City, Texas, where she attended grade school and later graduated from high school in 1975. She attended Wayland Baptist College and Texas Tech University, and eventually earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston Downtown campus in 1996, followed more recently by a real estate license in San Angelo. She was distinguished for two consecutive years as a Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Sharon held a colorful variety of jobs over her life including radio advertising, reception, customer services, resident location assistance and was most recently employed by Larry Jolley Real Estate.
Sharon was a fan of professional sports, and particularly loved the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
Sharon was known to her family, friends, employers, coworkers, customers, and clients as a kind, hard-working, friendly, compassionate, and generous person. Her approach to life could easily be summed up as: Jesus first. Others second. Self last.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Martha Anglin Matthews Snider of San Angelo; her three brothers, John Paul Matthews and Valerie of San Angelo, James David Matthews and Patsy of Canyon, Joe Thad Matthews of Conroe, Charles Snider Jr. and Shelly of Kyle, Destry Parker of West Port, OK, Dalton Snider and Calixtra Snider-Servin of Richardson; her nieces and nephews, Ashley Matthews Clark and Eric of Midland, Lauren Matthews McGowan and Brian of Dallas, Spencer Matthews of San Angelo, Amy Matthews Carper of Texarkana, Crystal Matthews of Texarkana, Liam Matthews of The Woodlands, Declan Matthews of The Woodlands, Julia Matthews of The Woodlands, Emory Snider of Colorado Springs, CO, Emily Fabian of Austin, Evan Snider of Fort Worth, Kirstie Varleman of Tulsa, OK, Jayne Snider-Servin of Richardson, Kaitlynn Snider-Servin of Richardson, Rebecca Tuminello of Plano, Jason Servin of Allen, Daria Snider-Servin of Richardson, and Zoey Snider-Servin of Waco; and many beloved cousins.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father, Caddo Peculia Matthews and step father, Charles Lamar Snider Sr.
Only a graveside service will be held. It will be Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, 11:30AM, Westbrook Cemetery, west of Colorado City, TX.
The family would like to express their never-ending appreciation to the doctors and staff of Shannon Hospital and especially to the kind and ever-caring staff of the Robert Lee Care Center for the superior attention and compassion graciously given to Sharon these years.
