David Aylor, aged 53, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away suddenly, Sunday morning, November 28, 2021. His family was with him. David was born April 22, 1968, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Kay and Rodney Aylor, as the grandson of Ben and Latane Robertson and Bill and Inez Aylor. David graduated from San Angelo Central High School in 1986 as the first trumpet of the Bobcat Marching Band. David worked with his father in Dallas for twenty years at the family’s swimming pool company. In 2006, he returned to San Angelo to care for his mother, where he was a longtime employee of Family Powersports on Houston Harte Expressway. He loved his job and his coworkers.
David leaves behind a city full of good friends, especially Steve and Brian, with whom David enjoyed hanging out at Shenanigans Sports Bar to watch Cowboys football. He loved games and riding his motorcycle. David was the much-loved brother of Chris Miller, Mark Blackmon, Doctor Michael Blackmon, and Denver Moore. He also leaves behind his adoring sisters Shelly Aylor, Erica Miller Bowling and her husband Dan Bowling, Katie Lynn Aylor, and Gina Lackey Miller. David had a particular fondness for his two special nieces, Emily and Megan, and his great- niece and nephew, Surya and Landon. David was the cherished nephew of his very special uncle, Gary Robertson of Austin, Texas, Sharon Aylor Rowland of Colorado, Dr. Denise Collier of Georgetown, Texas, and Jeannie Williams of Port Angeles, Washington. David leaves behind too many loving friends and family to list but must include his loving grandmother, Dixie Aylor Dryer.
David leaves a legacy of love, compassion, humor, and great joy. He will remain in our hearts forever. His family offers tremendous thanks to the Firefighters of San Angelo and the staff of Shannon Hospital. They are also extremely grateful to the United Tissue Network. Over one hundred families will benefit from David’s final gift. Private Services were held.
