Beloved son, brother, grandson, great grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. Honorary pall bearers: Angel Benjamin Martinez, Brenden Douglas, Joe Angel Martinez, Jesse Arellano, and David Benjamin Martinez
Born December 4, 1996; we had 24 years of love, selflessness, and light from this beautiful soul. He went home to the Holy Father December 28, 2020.
Cezar was one who suffered in silence throughout his life, he had pain and breathing problems almost every day. He never shrugged from responsibility or lending a helping hand. He used his humor and easy-going nature to push away the negativity of the world or those who were gloomy. He loved to laugh and seldom found a reason to frown. He was a writer, a thinker, a tinkerer, a plumber, mover, entrepreneur, cleaner, Santa, student, advocate for the “underdog”, boxer, artist, shopper and anything he needed to be to “fix” things or make something better for whomever needed help.
For his mother, Cezar was a champion, a confidante, a protector, an inspiration, someone who would push her to be the best version of herself she could be. He was also the one who would call her out on her crap, then he would give a hug or make her laugh. You see, he could do that because their relationship was more than son and mother, that of the purest form, best friends, bonded in love and respect. She was blessed to know him and be his mother.
Cezar was a fierce and loyal brother and best friend, he loved his little brother and took up the role as male influence at an early age, his brother was always on the forefront of Cezar’s mind. He would take up for him against bullies, be his champion even against his Momma, he loved his brother and only wanted him to be who he wanted to be. His own brother new not how many times his big brother would do his chores or tasks so he could just be a little brother and do the things he liked to do. Calling his closest most cherished friend simply his friend would be an insult. Brenden Douglas was a most valued and adored brother. They shared ideas, dreams, writing and ambitions together. They each lifted the other up when it was needed.
He was the first Great Grandson to Adelina Martinez and first Grandson to David and Debbie Martinez. He was the first to give David his name of Pop Pop.
His father, Byron was the first to teach him about computers and taking them apart, he took him to get dirty and have adventures that “Momma” would have been against because he was her baby, but Byron let him be a boy and have fun from the water to untamed land, they made their own jungles and beaches whether they were in San Angelo, Philadelphia or Wisconsin, an adventure was only around the corner!
There are not enough pages to do justice to this young man and the blessing he was to so many. He loved his family, adored children, and would have been an amazing father. Cezar had a special relationship with Diane, a second Momma to him. They would laugh so much together. He was someone you just wanted to know, a heart so big and a smile so very bright and genuine, this was who Cezar Antonio Martinez was and will continue to be in our hearts forever.
Till we see you again, we love you!
