Obituary for James "Chris" Bright
James Christopher Bright, known by his loved ones as “Chris,” passed away on August 7, 2018, at the age of 42.
Chris was born on April 2, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas, then attended Angelo State University.
Chris was married to Stephanie (Parsons) Bright on August 30, 2008, in San Angelo, Texas. They resided in San Angelo, Texas, where he worked as a Supervisor for Sodexo at Goodfellow AFB. Chris’s hobbies included spending time with his dog, Penny, singing (often made-up words to joke with his wife), photography, coding, geocaching, and having friendly debates about politics. Chris was friends with everyone who ever met him.
Chris will forever be remembered by his wife and best friend, Stephanie Bright, by his parents, Jim and Ginger Bright, by his father-in-law, Ivan Parsons, and mother-in-law, Susian Parsons. He is also survived by his twin brother, Jason Bright, by his sisters-in-law, Katherine Parsons, Sayla Pustejovsky and husband Kyle, by his uncle Chris Arnn and wife Gayle, by his aunt Jo Carole Sharon and husband Jim, and by his nieces Lilliann Bright and Daeja Parsons,
Chris will also be remembered by cousins, Sara Allard and husband Patrick, Clay Sheppard, Ben Sheppard, Jim Sharon Jr., Ralph Bright III, Tori Scott, Trina Mertz, Richard Ryan, and Laurie Ryan. Chris was predeceased by grandparents, Jimmy and Shirley Arnn and Ralph and Nellie Bright, and uncle Ralph Bright Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10th, from 5-7 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, Texas.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Chris will be held on Saturday, August 11th, at 10 a.m. at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, 4522 College Hills Blvd, San Angelo, Texas.
Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery.
